twist on the familiar
Monday, April 20, 2009
This weekend I spent an intense three and a half days participating in a National Geographic photography workshop in Washington, DC. Since in my backyard, I could not pass by this opportunity. It was a pleasure to learn with fellow passionate photography students and see their twist on the familiar capitol city through their camera lens.
One of our daily assignments in this workshop was to photograph our nation’s monuments in DC. How do you photograph the familiar monuments? At dawn I was struck by the daily chores to clean the empty Lincoln Memorial. Just two days earlier this city celebrated a holiday remembering the Emancipation and rights granted to our nation’s citizens.
How will you photograph the next family portrait or Spring flowers? Try your twist on the familiar!
